A 22-year-old man was arrested after an adult male was shot and hospitalized Friday night in Visalia, police said. (Visalia PD)

A man was hospitalized after being shot Friday night in Visalia, police said.

Officers responded just after 10 p.m. to a report of a shooting in the 3300 block of West Laurel Avenue. When they arrived, they found an adult man suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was taken to a hospital for medical treatment. Police did not immediately release information on his condition.

A 22-year-old man was detained at the scene.

The Visalia Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit took over the investigation.
