Southbound Interstate 5 in Kern County was blocked Monday at Highway 58 following a multi-vehicle collision, according to Caltrans.

Caltrans said southbound traffic was being diverted off Interstate 5 at Highway 58.

Officials did not immediately provide details on injuries or the number of vehicles involved.

There was no estimated time for reopening the southbound lanes, Caltrans said. Motorists were advised to expect delays and seek alternate routes.
