Motorists traveling near Marguerite Road and Santa Fe Avenue should expect delays Tuesday morning because of an overturned big rig, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Recovery crews were offloading the trailer and preparing the vehicle for recovery operations, CHP Merced said in a traffic advisory.

To allow crews to safely complete the work, the westbound lane of Marguerite Road was expected to close shortly.

Authorities urged drivers to use alternate routes if possible, slow down when approaching the area and remain alert for emergency personnel, tow operators, and recovery crews working near the roadway.

CHP said updates would be provided as conditions change.
