A Fresno man was sentenced Tuesday to nine years and eight months in federal prison for illegally possessing a firearm connected to a 2024 shooting, prosecutors said.
Randall McBride, 39, was sentenced by Senior U.S. District Judge John A. Mendez after pleading guilty Oct. 21, 2025, to being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to U.S. Attorney Eric Grant.
Court documents said surveillance video from Jan. 8, 2024, showed McBride driving past a Fresno residence while firing multiple shots. The gunfire struck the house and a vehicle parked in front of it while a victim hid behind the vehicle.
Authorities arrested McBride later that month and found him carrying a stolen Glock handgun loaded with a high-capacity magazine, prosecutors said. Ballistic testing linked the handgun to the earlier shooting.
McBride was barred from possessing firearms because of prior felony convictions, including six convictions for illegally possessing a firearm, as well as convictions for stalking and burglary.
