One person was killed Wednesday night in a four-vehicle crash in Visalia that shut down part of Demaree Street, authorities said.
Visalia police officers responded at about 7:56 p.m. to the collision at Demaree Street and Houston Avenue, according to the Visalia Police Department.
Officers found four vehicles involved in the crash. One of the vehicles caught fire and was extinguished by personnel from the Visalia Fire Department, police said.
The driver of the burning vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities did not immediately release the person’s identity.
The Visalia Police Department’s Traffic Unit took over the investigation.
