A woman died Thursday morning after a single-vehicle crash in Fresno that may have involved alcohol, police said.

Officers responded around 7:20 a.m. to a collision at Ventura Avenue and R Street, where a vehicle traveling westbound on Ventura went through the intersection and crashed into the Factory 41 building, according to the Fresno Police Department.

Two people were inside the vehicle: a 34-year-old female driver and a 19-year-old female passenger. Both were taken to Community Regional Medical Center.

The driver was pronounced dead at the hospital, while the passenger was treated for complaints of pain, police said.

Authorities said alcohol may have been a factor in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
