A local nonprofit will hold a ceremony Saturday to honor four abandoned infants laid to rest at the Garden of Innocence in Fresno.

The Garden of Innocence of Fresno County said the event is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday and will welcome “four new babies to the garden,” part of its mission to provide dignified burials for children who would otherwise go unclaimed.

“Our non-profit organization’s mission is to bring the local community together to ensure that no child leaves this earth without someone who cares,” the group said in an announcement.

The Garden of Innocence is located within Mountain View Cemetery in Fresno.

The nonprofit encourages community members to attend and support its efforts.
