Overall absences among Transportation Security Administration airport security officers rose to 10.2% on Wednesday, up slightly as a partial government shutdown continues, the government said on Thursday.

The absenteeism rate was much higher at some major airports on Wednesday including 25% at New York’s JFK and San Juan, Puerto Rico, 38% at Atlanta and at Houston Bush, the Homeland Security Department said.
