A California native who was added to the FBI’s “Ten Most Wanted” fugitives list earlier this week has been arrested in Mexico and returned to the United States, federal authorities said Thursday.
The FBI said Samuel Ramirez Jr. was taken into custody in Sinaloa, Mexico, and has since been returned to the U.S.
Ramirez was added to the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted list Tuesday for his alleged role in a May 2023 shooting at a bar in Federal Way, Washington, that left two women dead and a third person injured.
Ramirez, who was born in California and has ties to Compton, as well as Lake Havasu City, Arizona, and Las Vegas, Nevada, allegedly fled the state after the killings.
Authorities said he crossed into Tijuana, Mexico, on May 23, 2023.
The King County Superior Court in Washington charged Ramirez with first- and second-degree murder and attempted murder. A federal warrant was later issued accusing him of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.
The FBI had offered a reward of up to $1 million for information leading to his arrest.
