Visalia Police Reports Pedestrian Critically Injured in Overnight Crash

A pedestrian is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle late Thursday night on Walnut Avenue, according to the Visalia Police Department.

Officers responded at approximately 11:40 p.m. to a vehicle-versus-pedestrian collision on eastbound Walnut Avenue, just west of Mooney Boulevard. When officers arrived, they saw a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle.

The victim was transported to Kaweah Health and remains in critical condition.

Investigators determined the pedestrian was crossing southbound across Walnut Avenue when struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound. Police said the pedestrian was not within a marked crosswalk and was wearing dark clothing at the time.

The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
