A 66-year-old San Joaquin woman was killed Friday morning in a two-vehicle crash on Belmont Avenue at Siskiyou Avenue in Fresno County, authorities said.
The California Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 7:20 a.m. when a 66-year-old man driving a 2019 Dodge Charger eastbound on Belmont attempted a left turn directly in front of a westbound 2019 Peterbilt box truck.
The truck struck the Dodge’s passenger side, sending both vehicles onto the westbound shoulder of Belmont.
The woman, who was in the front passenger seat of the Dodge, died at the scene.
The Dodge driver sustained major injuries and was taken to Community Regional Medical Center.
The Peterbilt driver, a 24-year-old Fresno man, suffered minor injuries and was also transported for evaluation.
CHP said all occupants were wearing seatbelts, and alcohol or drugs were not factors.
The crash remains under investigation.
