A man and woman were arrested after Fresno police discovered firearms, ammunition and drugs during a traffic stop, authorities said Monday.
Southwest District Special Team officers stopped a vehicle near Hughes and Brown avenues for a traffic violation, the Fresno Police Department said in a statement.
The female passenger, identified as a convicted felon, was found with a loaded firearm, drug paraphernalia and a controlled substance. She also had a warrant for her arrest.
The male driver, also a convicted felon, was found to have numerous warrants. During an inventory search of the vehicle before it was towed, officers located a firearm barrel and live ammunition, police said.
Both suspects were booked into the Fresno County Jail on multiple charges, including being a felon in possession of a firearm, carrying a concealed firearm, possession of ammunition by a prohibited person, and drug-related offenses.
