The Fresno County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as Ali Seyedin, 22, of Clovis.

Original Story

A 22-year-old man was killed early Wednesday in a single-vehicle crash on Auberry Road, authorities said.

The collision happened at about 1:45 a.m. west of Beal Fire Road, the California Highway Patrol said.

A 21-year-old Clovis man was driving a Toyota T100 pickup southbound on Auberry Road, north of Auberry Mission Road, when he failed to round a curve, veered off the road and struck a tree.

The right rear passenger, who was not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene, authorities said.

The driver and a 22-year-old front passenger, both wearing seat belts, were injured.

The driver was driven to Clovis Community Medical Center, while the front passenger was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center with major injuries.

CHP said alcohol and drugs are not suspected in the crash.

Correction: Headline was updated to indicate that the crash occurred in Fresno County.
