The Central Valley Brewers Guild is gearing up for round two of its IPA Throwdown Series, with 12 local breweries set to compete in a West Coast IPA showdown on Saturday, Aug. 9, at 4 p.m. at House of Pendragon’s new Clovis location.

The event is the second in a three-part series celebrating the best IPAs in the region. Attendees will enjoy blind tastings and cast their votes for the coveted People’s Choice Award.

Participating breweries include Salty Walrus Brewing, Crow & Wolf Brewing, 1852 Brew Co., Summer Fox Brewing, House of Pendragon Brewing, Reborne Brewing, Magosh Brewing, Hop Forged Brewing, Incinerati Brewing, Riley’s Brewing, Burning Sun Brewing, and Full Circle Brewing.

House of Pendragon took home the People’s Choice title at the first event, a Hazy IPA throwdown hosted by Summer Fox Brewing. Summer Fox had the first keg to kick that evening.

The series will conclude with a ‘Final Showdown,’ featuring the top two Hazy and West Coast IPAs from the first two events. The location of the finale has yet to be announced.

The event is organized by the Central Valley Brewers Guild, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting the region’s craft beer industry and fostering community engagement through education, events, and advocacy.

Blind tastings begin at 4 p.m. at the Clovis taproom.
