In its annual report, U.S. News & World Report named Saint Agnes Medical Center and Community Regional Medical Center among the top regional hospitals in the state.
The two hospitals shared the No. 35 spot of the 60 best in California, both of them ranked highly for treating 13 procedures or conditions.
At Saint Agnes, president and market leader Gurvinder Kaur praised staff and physicians.
“It is a tremendous honor to be named one of the nation’s top hospitals for the second year in a row,” Kaur said in a statement. “The ceaseless dedication of our colleagues and physicians to carry out our healing mission by providing the highest quality care for our patients deserves every ounce of recognition.”
At Community, president & CEO Craig Wagoner likewise praised the team.
“I am both humbled and proud that Community Regional Medical Center earned this honor, but even more so for the recognition of the people who provide this care – the physicians and our team,” Wagoner said in a statement to GV Wire. “Without them, none of this would be possible, and I’m in awe of their commitment to the patients we serve.”
Treatment Care Earns Top Rankings for Hospitals
U.S. News comes out with its hospital ranking every year, analyzing specialties and condition treatment. Using Medicare data, researchers look at 30-day survival rates, readmission, and length of stay. They also look at number of patients treated, staffing numbers and communication, and patient satisfaction scores.
Saint Agnes’ procedures of note centered around its heart treatment, including aortic valve surgery, congestive heart failure, heart arrhythmia, heart attack, and transcatheter aortic valve replacement.
The hospital also earned commendation for its diabetes, lymphoma, and leukemia treatments.
Community’s cancer care, cardiology treatment, diabetes treatment, pulmonology, and gynecological treatment received high rankings.
