A Dinuba man was sentenced Friday to more than 23 years in state prison for a 2023 DUI crash that killed two women and seriously injured two others, the Tulare County District Attorney’s Office announced.
Blake Benham, 44, was sentenced to 23 years and 8 months after pleading guilty on May 2 to two felony counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and felony DUI causing injury with a blood-alcohol level over .08%.
On Dec. 3, 2023, Benham was driving a Ford F-150 when he veered into oncoming traffic and crashed head-on into a car carrying four people at Road 56 and Avenue 430 in Dinuba.
The victims, a mother and daughter, were returning to Reedley from Christmas shopping in Tulare. Two others in the car suffered major injuries.
Benham’s blood-alcohol content was measured above .15%, investigators said.
