The Fresno Police Department Motor Unit will conduct a traffic safety enforcement operation on Saturday, with a primary focus on speeding violations, officials said.
The operation will run from noon to 10 p.m. and will also address other traffic infractions.
While the main goal is to curb dangerous driving behavior, police said the effort could also lead to DUI arrests.
In another crackdown on July 6, motor officers made 39 traffic stops, issued 35 citations, impounded seven vehicles, and gave six state referee citations, which are typically issued for modified or unsafe vehicles.
One person was also arrested on suspicion of DUI.
