After surviving alone in a field for months, a clever little dog named Poppy is now looking for a place to call home.
Believed to be a chihuahua-terrier mix, Poppy is about 2 to 3 years old and weighs roughly 20 pounds.
Rescuers say the small dog had been living in the field since at least January and likely relied on her intelligence and instincts to stay alive.
Though initially shy, Poppy’s personality quickly shines through once she feels safe.
She’s been described as sweet, funny and affectionate — and she seems to prefer the company of male dogs, having made a few canine companions during her time on the run.
Poppy would do well in a home with other dogs and older children!
