A 27-year-old man was shot and killed early Friday morning in a Fresno parking lot following a verbal altercation, authorities said.
Fresno police now have issued an arrest warrant for Raymond Ornelas Torres, 41, in connection with the homicide.
Officers from the Southwest Policing District responded around 2:09 a.m. to the 2200 block of South Plumas Street after the ShotSpotter system detected three gunshots, the police department said.
As officers made their way to the scene, additional callers reported a gunshot victim in the parking lot.
When officers arrived, they found Julian Garcia unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the upper body.
He was transported to Community Regional Medical Center where he died at 2:39 a.m.

Homicide detectives determined that Garcia had been involved in a verbal altercation with Torres shortly before the shooting. During the confrontation, Torres allegedly fired at Garcia, striking him.
