Detectives with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man following a shooting near Dinuba on Friday.
Just after 5:30 p.m., deputies responded to a report of a shooting at the Country Market on Road 80 near Dinuba.
They found a victim who had been pistol-whipped and shot in the left leg. The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities later apprehended Gilberto Lopez Mendez, 23, in connection with the incident.
A firearm recovered at the scene was found to be converted to fully automatic with a large-capacity magazine.
