Political pundit Tucker Carlson criticized President Donald Trump on Friday, saying he is “complicit” in Israel’s attack on Iran and warning the escalating conflict between the two nations could draw the U.S. into war, The Hill reported.
Carlson made the remarks in his morning newsletter, stating Trump was “complicit in the act of war” due to America’s long-standing alliance with Israel. Israeli forces attacked multiple military targets in Iran early Friday morning, reportedly killing top Iranian commanders — prompting fears of a broader conflict.
“What happens next will define Donald Trump’s presidency,” Carlson wrote in the newsletter, which was picked up by several media outlets.
Carlson, a former Fox News host known for his firebrand conservative commentary, has long criticized U.S. involvement in Middle East wars. A vocal opponent of neoconservatism, he has urged Trump to follow an “America First” approach and avoid entanglement in the growing Iran-Israel tensions.
Carlson has been a close media ally to Trump, appearing with him at the 2024 Republican National Convention and hosting him on a speaking tour during the campaign. Despite his recent criticism, Trump has praised Carlson as one of his favorite right-wing commentators.
