Fresno State will provide $25,000 in matching scholarship funds for Bulldog Bound students in partnership with The Foundation for Fresno Unified Students.

Overall, the district is giving $441,200 to 333 graduates, the largest amount in Fresno Unified history.

The university will match Fresno Unified’s $1,000 scholarship awards to 25 students.

Fresno State is applying the matching funds toward students’ full-time enrollment tuition, totaling $500 each semester.

“We’re thrilled that the matching scholarship dollars from Fresno State for our Bulldog Bound students will continue to bridge the financial gap and empower our students to achieve their college dreams,” said Fresno Unified Superintendent Misty Her.

Fresno Unified Scholarships have awarded over $2 million since its inception in 2009.

This year, Fresno Unified awarded $400,000 to 315 graduates alongside an extra $41,200 in additional scholarship. Overall, the district is giving $441,200 to 333 graduates, the largest amount in Fresno Unified history.

Fresno Programs and Foundations Working for Students

The district’s philanthropic fundraising spearheaded by The Foundation for Fresno Unified Students made the record-breaking number possible.

“Investing in our students is crucial, and we are deeply grateful to Fresno State for their dedication and partnership through the Bulldog Bound program,” said Wendy McCulley, the foundation’s CEO.

The foundation’s mission is to ensure all students have the tools and resources to reach their full potential.

Similarly, Bulldog Bound, a guaranteed admissions program, guarantees students have a path to higher education. The program promises a spot at Fresno State to students from participating school districts who meet minimum California State University requirements.

“At Fresno State, we are committed to making higher education more accessible and affordable for every student in our region,” said Dr. Saul Jiménez-Sandoval, president of Fresno State. “Through this partnership with Fresno Unified and The Foundation for Fresno Unified Students, we are not only opening doors — we are building pathways that empower students to reach their full potential and contribute meaningfully to the Central Valley’s future.”
