Visalia Hit-and-Run Leaves Bicyclist Dead, Police Seek Driver

A 53-year-old bicyclist has died following a hit-and-run crash in Visalia, police reported.

Officers responded around 9:45 p.m. Saturday to a report of a collision on southbound Akers Street, just south of Judy Avenue, according to the Visalia Police Department.

Authorities said a vehicle struck the bicyclist and fled the scene before officers arrived.

The injured man was taken to Kaweah Health with serious injuries and later died Sunday morning, police said.
