The official White House social media account shared a photo of President Trump wearing a crown with the words “Long Live the King” on Wednesday.
The post had the caption saying, “”CONGESTION PRICING IS DEAD. Manhattan, and all of New York, is SAVED. LONG LIVE THE KING!’
–President Donald J. Trump”
On Wednesday, The New York Times reported that Trump intends to revoke federal approval of New York City’s congestion pricing program, fulfilling a campaign promise to reverse the policy that tolls drivers who enter Manhattan’s busiest streets to finance repairs to mass transit.
Wednesday’s social media post follows a controversial Valentine’s Day post that read, “Roses are red, violets are blue, come here illegally and we’ll deport you.”
The “King” post sparked a flood of comments, with some urging the account to address issues like falling grocery prices, while others expressed surprise at the account’s tone.
Meanwhile, a number of supporters praised the post, echoing the sentiment of “long live Trump.”
Editor’s Note: It should be noted that during America’s struggle for independence, the 13 colonies rejected the sovereignty of the British monarch.
