The California Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle crash that left one person dead on Wednesday.

The collision occurred at the intersection of Avenue 7 1/2 and Avenue 7, prompting a traffic alert in the area, according to CHP officials in Madera.

Authorities have not released details about the cause of the crash or the identities of those involved.

Drivers are advised to exercise caution while traveling through the intersection.
