Five dogs suspected of chasing and killing cats near Riverside Golf Course were seized Thursday morning by the Fresno Animal Center, with one puppy still unaccounted for, Mayor Jerry Dyer’s office said in a news release.

This follows another incident earlier in the week when two dogs involved in similar attacks were captured near Clinton and Brawley avenues, the news release reported.

Over the last several weeks, 22 dogs have been seized due to aggressive behavior, including one case involving a mail carrier who was chased.

All the dogs are owned but were inadequately contained on their owners’ properties, authorities said.

Officials said they will follow necessary procedures to determine each dog’s outcome.
