A man is recovering after being shot in his Coalinga home Tuesday morning during a dispute with a neighbor, according to the Coalinga Police Department.

At around 8:19 a.m., officers were called near the intersection of Baker and Grant streets, where they found an adult male inside his home with a gunshot wound to his shoulder.

Police said the injury was not life-threatening, and the man was transported to Kaweah Delta Hospital in Visalia for treatment.

Authorities said that the victim and his mother were at home when a disturbance broke out between the victim and their neighbor, identified as Elijah Bridgett, 22.

According to police, Bridgett allegedly fired a single shot at the victim before fleeing the scene in his vehicle.

Bridgett was located and arrested a few hours later, officials said.

He was transported to the Coalinga Police Department for questioning before being booked into the Fresno County Jail on charges of assault with a firearm, according to authorities.
