In a nail-biting Fresno City Council race, the outcome for the District 6 seat remains uncertain as vote counting continues.

Grassroots candidate and military veteran Nick Richardson currently leads attorney Roger Bonakdar by a narrow margin, underscoring the highly competitive nature of the election for the northeast Fresno seat.

After Tuesday’s update, Richardson held a 599-vote lead, capturing 50.98% of the votes to Bonakdar’s 48.80%.

Only 259 votes had separated them as of last Thursday.

The council race is one of several across Fresno County that are still too close to call.
