Former Fresno business owner Todd Eric Mumma has been sentenced to 21 years in federal prison for sexual exploitation of a minor, followed by a decade of supervised release, U.S. Attorney Phillip A. Talbert announced through a statement the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office posted on social media.

Mumma, 61, will face restrictions on his access to minors, computers, and the internet during his release period.

Talbert reported that Mumma must also register as a sex offender and comply with a $160,000 forfeiture order.

Additionally, Mumma was ordered to pay $71,200 in restitution to a victim and $55,100 in special assessments.

A federal jury convicted Mumma in March on charges of actual and attempted sexual exploitation of a minor.

Court evidence revealed that he used hidden cameras to record explicit images of a minor, then stored and viewed the images on a secured app on his cellphone.

Mumma formerly owned technology company Select Business Machines.

The investigation was led by the Central Valley Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, including Homeland Security Investigations and the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.

Assistant U.S. Attorney David L. Gappa and Trial Attorney McKenzie Hightower of the Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section prosecuted the case.
