Saint Agnes will be handing off its on-site urgent care to a Madera-based health clinic.
On Thursday, the urgent care at Saint Agnes Medical Center will reopen under the ownership and management of federally qualified health clinic Camarena Health, according to a news release from the hospital.
The move furthers the long-standing partnership between the two health care companies.
“We are thrilled to provide accessible urgent care services in Fresno through our continued partnership with Saint Agnes Medical Center,” said Paulo Soares, CEO of Camarena. “This transition further enhances our commitment to delivering quality care and making a meaningful impact on the health and wellness of more individuals in our community.”
Relationship Between Saint Agnes, Camarena a Long One
Operating hours for the urgent care will be Thursdays through Mondays 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The clinic will be closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays, according to the release. In the coming months, the clinic will be open seven days a week with extended hours.
Camarena operates more than 20 health centers in Fresno and Madera counties, including four urgent care centers in Madera County.
Saint Agnes will continue to own and operate its two other urgent care locations, Northwest Urgent Care in Fresno and Magnolia Urgent Care in Clovis.
Camarena and Saint Agnes have had a years-long relationship. Across the street from the hospital, Camarena operates Millbrook Health Center. The health clinic also keeps personnel at the hospital. For patients without a primary care doctor, staff help direct many who are in the emergency department to the health center for follow-up care, said Nichole Mosqueda, chief strategy officer for Camarena Health.
“At Saint Agnes, our goal is to best service our community with the options that can be viable for the long run,” said Dr. Gurvinder Kaur, Saint Agnes president and market leader. “We will continue to operate our other two urgent care centers and are thankful for the partnership with Camarena health in improving access to care.”
