Sun Kissed Summer Festival 2024

Sun Kissed Summer Festival returns to Fresno at a new venue — Granite Park — for its biggest and most extravagant celebration on Saturday.

For the past several years, the festival has been a popular event at Chukchansi Park. Think of it as an equivalent to the Electric Daisy Carnival, commonly known as EDC. It features, electronic dance music with colorful clothes, laser light shows, projected colored images, visual effects, and fog machines. K-Lin Events is the promoter.

World renowned DJ Steve Aoki will be performing. In 2012, Pollstar designated Aoki as the highest-grossing electronic dance music artist in North America from tours. He’s collaborated with artists such as Linkin Park, Iggy Azalea, and Blink-182.

Other DJs on the bill are MitiS, ALRT, CAM GIRL, and Danny Greko. Bust out your glitter and glow sticks.

5th Annual Illuminate Our Pride Street Festival

The 5th annual Illuminate Our Pride event from Fresno EOC and the LGBTQ+ Resource Center is Saturday in downtown Fresno. This community Pride event is free.

There’ll be 65-plus community resource tables and artisan vendors, as well as food options. The festival includes speakers who reflect the city’s diversity and a drag show.

Intocable

Intocable performs at the Saroyan Theatre on Saturday. Since the 90s, this Tejano/NorteƱo group has entertained fans with their romantic lyrics, infectious hooks, and polished harmonies.

Their numerous chart-topping tracks, Grammy Awards, and nominations at esteemed ceremonies like the Billboard Regional Mexican Awards and Latin Grammys show reflect their enduring impact. Crossing over into mainstream culture, they made history as the first band of their kind to perform at a Dallas Cowboys halftime show in 2011.

ApCal Rock’n Ranch

The Linkin Park tribute band ā€œIn The Endā€ makes its way to ApCal Rock’n Ranch on Saturday. They came to the venue last year and over 900 people showed up. They’re back by popular demand.

The band is full of industry veterans who are strong musicians. They put on a high-energy live show that complements the group that were pioneers in the nu-metal movement or the rap rock genre.

Expect to hear the classics that defined my generation like “In the End,” “Crawling,” “One Step Closer,” “Faint,” “Somewhere I Belong,” “Numb,” “What I’ve Done,” and “New Divide.”

There’ll be beer, dancing, cigars, and gourmet food trucks. Be sure to bring a lawn chair.

Central Valley Fuego FC vs South Georgia Tormenta FC

Central Valley Fuego FC is the region’s professional soccer team in USL League One and the Fuego face South Georgia Tormenta FC at the Fresno State soccer stadium on Saturday. It’ll be a League One cup competition game.

I’ve went to a few home games last year and the fans added to experience. Many show their Valley pride by wearing the team colors and bringing drums and horns.

The Fuego boast an eclectic roster of players from different countries like Mexico and France. The head coach is Jermaine Jones.
