Pop-Tarts creator William “Bill” Post has died at 96.

Post played a key role in the development of the iconic toaster pastry.

He was remembered for his humility and generosity.


William “Bill” Post, the Michigan-born innovator behind the creation of Pop-Tarts, has passed away at the age of 96.

Post, a son of Dutch immigrants, played a pivotal role in the development of the iconic toaster pastry while working at the Keebler Company. He later served as the senior vice president at Keebler’s offices in Illinois.

Post’s obituary highlights his humility and generosity, stating, “In spite of an extraordinary life and legendary accomplishments, Bill remained a humble man of God with a servant’s heart that seemed to overflow with generosity.”

He is survived by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
