A Senate employee has been dismissed following the release of a video that allegedly shows two men engaging in sexual activity in a Senate hearing room.
The video, which was obtained and shared by the Daily Caller, is currently under investigation by the police.
The Daily Caller identified the employee as a staff member of Democratic Senator Ben Cardin. When CNN contacted Cardin’s office, they were referred to a LinkedIn statement by Aidan Maese-Czeropski.
In his statement, Maese-Czeropski acknowledged the challenging times he’s facing due to attacks on his personal life for political gain. He admitted to past mistakes but denied any disrespect towards his workplace. He also mentioned exploring legal avenues in response to the situation.
Cardin’s office later confirmed that Maese-Czeropski is no longer a Senate employee. Attempts to reach Maese-Czeropski for comment have been unsuccessful.
The US Capitol Police, while not confirming the identities of the individuals in the video, stated that they are investigating the matter. CNN’s inquiries to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s office have yet to receive a response.
