The Tejon Indian Tribe is ready to commence construction on the much-anticipated Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Tejon, located at the foot of the Grapevine on I-5, on December 14. This marks the first hotel and casino in Kern, less than 15 miles south of Bakersfield.
Two-Phase Construction
The project will be executed in two stages. The initial phase will focus on the construction of a 150,000 square-foot casino, featuring 3,000 slot machines, 48 table games, and a variety of dining and drinking establishments, including the iconic Hard Rock Cafe. This phase is slated for completion by October 2025.
The final phase will see the addition of a 400-room hotel, a 2,800-seat Hard Rock Live event center, more casino space, restaurants, a pool, gym, and spa. The $600 million project is projected to generate 5,000 direct and indirect jobs in Kern.
The groundbreaking ceremony will be attended by Octavio Escobedo III, Chairman of the Tejon Tribe, and Jim Allen, Chairman of Hard Rock International, along with other dignitaries.
