A 42-year-old man received a life sentence last week in Tulare County Superior Court for felony child molestation.

Octavio Larios, 42, must serve at least 25 years before coming up for parole, prosecutors said. In addition, he will be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

Larios pleaded no contest on Oct. 23 to one count of sexual intercourse with a child 10 years old or younger and one count of a forcible lewd act upon a child under the age of 14.

The crimes occurred between July 21, 2016, and July 20, 2020, in the city of Tulare, the Tulare County District Attorney’s Office said.

Assistant DA Chelsea Wayt prosecuted the case, which was investigated by the Tulare Police Department.
