Clovis police say a phone tip about suspicious activity in Harlan Ranch early Wednesday led to the arrest of a Fresno man on gun, mail theft, and drug charges.

Lee Vue, 34, was arrested without incident at about 3 a.m. near a community mailbox in the vicinity of Richmond and North Pamela avenues, authorities said.
However, a passenger in the car driven by Vue ran from officers and wasn’t caught.
A search of the car by officers turned up a loaded handgun, stolen mail, methamphetamine, and burglary tools. Vue, a convicted felon who is on probation, was booked into Fresno County Jail.
“This arrest occurred because of the Clovis resident who called police immediately, and the quick actions by our dispatchers and officers,” Clovis PD public information officer Ty Wood said in a news release. “We urge you to call law enforcement immediately when you see a crime in progress or suspicious activity.”
Mail Theft Climbs During Winter Holidays
Wood also noted that mail theft increases in the winter and holiday months. He advised residents to check their mail daily and have important items delivered to a secure location.
Residents can reach Clovis PD by calling 911 for emergencies and (559) 324-2800 for non-emergencies.
