Officers responding to a report of a gunshot victim found Martinez badly wounded in a vehicle in the 4700 block of East Liberty Avenue in southeast Fresno on Sept. 19.
He died a week later at Community Regional Medical Center.
Thus far, detectives have learned that Martinez was involved in an argument with another man before he was shot. Police say they have interviewed witnesses and examined surveillance footage from nearby buildings.
