Lovers of passionate classical music are in for a treat Friday night at the Saroyan Theatre in downtown Fresno.

And, in these inflationary times, the price of admission is better than all right.

Tickets are free but must be reserved at this link.

Patrons will hear “Music of Ecstasy: Scriabin and Shostakovich” performed by the Fresno International Summer Academy Orchestra. The philharmonic orchestra is composed of 130 high school and college musicians from all over the world and is led by conductor Thomas Loewenheim.

Loewenheim is head of strings, professor of cello, and conductor of the Fresno State Orchestra, as well as the Youth Orchestras of Fresno.
