Though many political experts regard Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as a longshot to win the White House in 2024, a new poll indicates the Democrat with the famous family name has the best favorability rating among voters.
A poll from The Economist and YouGov released last week found that Kennedy was viewed favorably by 49% of respondents. Factoring in his 30% unfavorable rating, the anti-vaccine activist and environmental lawyer had the poll’s highest net favorability at 19 percentage points.
Conservative entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy and Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) had the second-highest net favorability at 8 percentage points each.
The poll revealed strong positives and negatives for President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump.
Biden and Trump each had the second-highest percentage of respondents viewing them favorably at 44%. But their net favorability plummeted to minus-9 percentage points for Biden and minus-10 percentage points for Trump.
A recent Fox News Poll released last month indicated that Kennedy is supported by about 20% of Democrats at this early juncture, giving the Biden camp and others a new rival to worry about.
