Saturday offers a bevy of options for Fresno area folks looking to celebrate Earth Day.
Earth Day Fresno returns to Fresno City College for a 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. event that includes exhibits, food trucks, kids’ activities, live music, and a free bike clinic.
Over at the Big Fresno Fair, the county is hosting a Family-KidFest from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Entry and parking are free.
This event offers food, educational booths, prizes, and giveaways from more than 60 county departments, partners, businesses, and community groups.
Youngsters have the opportunity to play in bounce houses, see animals from the Fresno Chaffee Zoo, meet Parker, the Fresno Grizzlies mascot; and interact with large vehicles that keep the county safe and clean.
There will also be pets available for adoption.
Clovis Tree Planting
Clovis will celebrate Earth Day with its 13th annual Arbor Day Tree Planting, starting at 10 a.m. at Sunnyside and Shepherd avenues.
The goal is to plant more than 50 trees along Dry Creek Trail.
The Clovis Community Foundation is providing the trees. All you need to do is bring a smile and a shovel.
