Hanford West High School students got a close-up look at cutting edge simulators and other training tools during a recent visit to California Health Sciences University in Clovis.
The university’s College of Osteopathic Medicine hosted the students as a way to encourage them to consider a career in health care through interactive learning experiences at the state of the art campus.
The high schoolers rotated through multiple medical scenarios in the medical school’s simulated hospital, including respiratory care, cardiac arrest, head injury, and childbirth.
Key components of the CHSU mission include inspiring Central Valley students to pursue medically-oriented careers and to improve health outcomes across the San Joaquin Valley.
