Bank of America is again offering paid internships next summer for Fresno County high school students to work at local nonprofits through its Student Leaders program.
Students will work at an eight-week paid internship at a local nonprofit, where they will learn about the needs of the community and the role of nonprofits in meeting those needs. Students also will attend a leadership summit to learn how the government, nonprofits, and businesses team up to help others.
Applications are being accepted through Jan. 13.
Last summer, two Fresno-based student leaders worked with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Fresno County on special projects, including teaching club members how to code and how to recycle.
Akhil Vallabh, a previous participant who is now a senior at Clovis North High School, said the program offered “impressive” networking opportunities.
In addition, having the opportunity to make a difference for children was “humbling but also extremely fulfilling,” he said in a news release. “I would most certainly recommend that all high school juniors and seniors apply for this enriching experience because it opened so many doors and broadened my professional and humanitarian latitudes immensely!”
