Nordie’s fans can rejoice: Sequoia Mall in Visalia will be the site of a new Nordstrom Rack store by the fall of 2023, the corporation announced Thursday.
The announcement was hailed by David Paynter, president of Paynter Realty and Investments, Inc., the mall’s manager, and managing member of Caldwell-Mooney Partners I, L.P., the mall’s owner.
“As a major part of the initial stage of the redevelopment of the Sequoia Mall, we are excited to announce Nordstrom Rack will be opening in the Sequoia Mall,” Paynter said in a news release. “Nordstrom Rack is a best-in-class retailer which we have long hoped would come to Visalia. With an extraordinary history of excellence in sales and customer service, they will surely be a welcomed addition to the Visalia community.”
With the addition of this 29,000-square-foot store near Highways 99 and 198, Nordstrom will be operating 50 Nordstrom Rack stores in California.
The Visalia store is the second announced for the Valley in recent months and will be the third local store. In August, Nordstrom announced plans to open a Nordstrom Rack in Clovis Crossing at Clovis and Herndon avenues next year. There also is a Nordstrom Rack in the Villaggio Shopping Center at Nees and Blackstone avenues in north Fresno.
“We look forward to opening this new Nordstrom Rack location in the Visalia community, strengthening our network of stores and introducing new customers to Nordstrom Rack’s unique product offering,” said Carl Jenkins, senior vice president of Nordstrom Rack Stores. “In addition to shopping the brands they love at a great price, our customers in Visalia can take full advantage of this convenient new location to pick up online orders and make returns.”
Nordstrom Rack is the off-price retail division of Nordstrom, Inc., offering up to 70% off on-trend apparel, accessories, beauty and home products, and shoes from top brands sold at Nordstrom stores.
