Power has been restored to hundreds of residences in the vicinity of Blackstone and Shields avenues shortly before 9 a.m. Wednesday.

The driver of a small stolen sedan ran into a power pole at about 6 a.m. Wednesday and caused the power outage.

The accident also created snarled traffic because it knocked out the power to traffic lights.

The driver was going eastbound on Shields before colliding with the pole. Authorities said that the driver of the stolen car fled the scene.

This map shows the area that was without electricity Wednesday morning. PG&E restored service shortly before 9 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2022. (PG&E)
