Sosi Chitakian Vogt of Fresno is now a Madera County Superior Court judge.

Gov. Gavin Newsom announced Vogt’s elevation on Sept. 3. She has served as a Madera County court commissioner since 2020.

Vogt fills the vacancy created by Judge Joseph A. Soldani’s retirement. Vogt, 53, is a Republican.

Vogt’s Resume Includes a Wealth of Experience

The San Joaquin College of Law graduate brings broad experience to her new position, having served as a prosecutor, public defender, and corporate counsel.

She was appointed counsel at Madera Alternate Defense in 2019 and was an associate at Wapner Jones PC from 2016 to 2018.

Vogt also served as an associate at Sawl Law Group from 2009 to 2015 and a contract attorney at the Fresno County Public Defender’s Office from 2003 to 2009.

Her other experience includes stints with Anderson Clayton Queensland Cotton from 2001 to 2003, the Fresno County District Attorney’s Office from 1998 to 2001, and Richard A. Ciummo and Associates from 1996 to 1998.

She is married to Fresno County Superior Court Judge John Vogt.
