If you’re tired of streaming everything and want someone to do the work for you, the Galaxy Theatres Porterville location is opening this weekend with four movies.
“Our reopening date is this Friday, Mar. 19. We’ll be open for weekends initially (Fridays through Sundays),” the theatre said in a message to GV Wire℠.
The reason they’re able to open is because Tulare County is now in California’s ‘red’ tier for reopening after Tuesday’s update.
GV Wire℠ checked with several theatre location throughout Tulare County, but the Porterville location was the only one that responded with a reopening plan.
First Movies
The first showing is scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday with Disney’s ‘Raya and the Last Dragon’.
The other movies playing this weekend include:
- Chaos Walking
- The Marksman
- Tom & Jerry
Guests are encouraged to purchase tickets ahead of time through the theatre’s website.
Guest Experience
Theatre occupancy, seating arrangements, and social distancing will follow local and state guidelines, according to Galaxy Theatre’s blog.
Groups must be at least 6-feet apart. Families may sit together and masks are required.
Electrostatic Misting Machines
The theater says it is using a non-toxic electrostatic misting machines to disinfect its public areas.
New air filters have been installed and air scrubber equipment added to theatre heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems the company said. Air purifiers will be also be placed in the lobby and other public spaces, according to theater management.
