A young girl who “experienced difficulty” in the water during a public swimming session at Clovis West High School was awake and alert by the time an ambulance arrived, Clovis Unified School District said in a news release.
The incident happened Wednesday at the high school. According to the school district, the girl, who is about 5 years old, was treated on the pool deck by lifeguards and medical staff. She was transported to a hospital for treatment.
“We are grateful for the quick action by our staff,” Norm Anderson, district associate superintendent, said in a statement.
