Sixty-two students received their doctor of pharmacy degrees Saturday in a commencement ceremony at Clovis Hills Community Church.
These men and women are members of the first graduating class from the College of Pharmacy at California Health Sciences University.
“Pharmacists are the future of our health care system and I have no doubt that these graduates will serve our communities well and truly make a difference in the lives of patients.” — State Sen. Ed Hernandez
State Sen. Ed Hernandez, a doctor of optometry and candidate for lieutenant governor, addressed the graduates.“It is an honor to speak at CHSU’s first graduation ceremony, not only because this is a historic occasion, but also because we are seeing the future of health care in action,” Hernandez said. “I have dedicated my entire life to advocating for quality, affordable health care, including prioritizing health in the state budget and increasing the number of providers in the state.”
