Israel’s response to protests by Palestinians in Gaza has drawn rebuke from critics while others defend the country’s actions.
In an appearance on CNN, New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman, a Pulitzer Prize-winning author, offered his analysis on the perceptions of Israel. He told host Fareed Zakaria that the key to understanding the recurring conflict among Israel, Palestine and other Arab neighbors requires navigating multiple and sometimes contradictory realities.
“Israel lives in a crazy neighborhood, one of the craziest neighborhoods on the planet right now,” Friedman says.
