Fresno firefighters responded to a fire at the Fresno Mission on Sunday afternoon, marking the third fire-related incident at the site in recent weeks.
The fire was reported around 1:10 p.m. on Sierra Avenue, between Blackstone Avenue and Highway 41, the Fresno Fire Department told GV Wire.
Crews arrived to find a large pile of goods burning, with flames threatening the main building and a neighboring structure.
Firefighters worked quickly to prevent the fire from spreading and remained on scene for about five-and-a-half hours. No injuries were reported.
Fire officials said the business will remain closed to the public on Monday.
Mission Thrift Fire Under Investigation
Investigators plan to return to review surveillance footage and gather more evidence.
The cause of Sunday’s fire has not yet been determined and is under active investigation.
The two prior incidents were ruled accidental and non-malicious, fire officials said.
